Canon Full-Frame Mirrorless Cameras
From the Livestream of Canon Virtual Product Launch, Canon official unveiled two full-frames cameras EOS R5 and EOS R6, let’s talk some details about both cameras.
Canon EOS R5
Canon EOS R5 full-frame mirrorless camera is incredible for both video and stills with 45MP CMOS sensor with the combination of Digic X processor from 1DX Mark III allow EOS R5 to capture 8K RAW video up to 30p, 10-bit 4:2:2: 4K at up to 120p. Full resolution images can go up to 20pfs or 12fps with mechanical shutter-all internally, without any limitation of crop or focus.
Dual Pixel CMOS AF II features in the new Canon’s EOS R5, and R5 offers 100% coverage of the focus area with 1,053 automatically selected AF Zones. With the latest machine learning, AF tracking algorithms with a faster Digic X process give you an excellent performance where you choose manually focus or using head or eye detection. 5-axis in-body image stabilization (IBIS) brings to the EOS R5 for the very first time. This build help together with in-lens stabilization in some RF-mount lenses provides “up to 8 stops” shake corrections.
In terms of design, we see 5.76M-dot OLED EVF with 120Hz refresh rate, a 2.1M-dot fully-articulating LCD, dual card slots (one CFExpress, one UHS-II SD), a mic port, headphone jack, mini HDMI port, and built-in WiFi and Bluetooth connectivity, all inside weather, drip, and dust resistant body.
You can pre-order EOS R5 right now, and will begin shipping at the end of July. As rumored body-only will cost $3,900 or with the kit lens, RF 24-105mm f/4L IS USM lens for the price of $5,000.

Canon EOS R6
Canon EOS R6 is based around 20.1MP CMOS sensor with Digic X processor from 1DX Mark III and EOS R5, helps R6 to shoot 10-bit 4:2:2: 4K video up to 60p, 1080/120p slow motion. With no corp or focus limitations, you can take full resolutions stills at 20fps or 12fps using the mechanical shutter-again. There is no RAW video capture on EOS R6, for the still shooters will get the same advanced “Dual Pixel CMOS AF II” with the same IBIS system as EOS R5.
With the stripped-down design-wise, EOS R6 has no top LCD, and the OLED viewfinder has lower resolution (3.36M-dots). On the back, the fully articulating LCD is also a bit lower res at 1.62M-dots. But shooter will get dual card slots (both UHS-II SD), a mic port, headphone jack, a mini HDMI port, and built-in WIFI with Bluetooth connectivity for wireless control; the camera is the weather, drop and dust sealing as par with EOS 6D series.
You can pre-order EOS R6 right now, but you have to wait for shipping till the end of August. The price tag is at a bit cheaper side because body-only will cost $2,500 or with the kit lens, RF 24-105mm f/4-7.1 IS STM for the price of $2,900, or you have a choice for 24-105mm f/4L IS USM for $3,600.
